Well,
They come from broken homes
And the broken hearted
And the hopeless people
And the sleepiest hearts
And the fearful children
And the fearful youth
And the fearful adults
And that hobo standing on by the freeway exit
Who only asks for a smile
And that prisoner who isn’t guilty
But still stands trial
And that little kid around the corner who always plays alone
Because his mother works all day
And his father doesn’t care.
And that annoying ten year old down the street who never shuts up
Because at home his parents are divorced
So he never gets the love he deserves
Or the love he needs
And that sketchy teen across the road who always sits at a window
Because he’s been through so much
He’s afraid to go outside
Because he doesn’t want to be hurt by people like that one time
Or the time before that
Or the time before that… .
All the lonely people come from here
And over there
And just about everywhere
One just hast to notice
One just hast to know how to look;
How to see
One can make a difference
One can mend a soul
A broken heart
A little cut
An open wound
A weary mind
Or even a restless heart
