you misunderstand. Yes you should help with all you can. If you really care about them you will help and be there for as much as you can. But sometimes you can only do so much before they stop accepting and/or responding and they bring you down. I speak solely from personal experience. I did what I could and clung onto them for as long as I could before I realized nothing was changing except for me drifting down into a worse state. Sometimes it’s hard to help when you’re just as down as they are.
